365 Writing Prompts Day 6
Yes, I do believe in reincarnation. Jesus proclaimed himself to be the resurrection and the life; additionally, Jesus identified John as the prophet Elijah (Matthew 11:14; 17:10-13; Mark 9:11-13).
Without going into great detail, Cathy and I had shared dreams for many years. We were in our teens before we discussed it with one another but they were the same, down to the clothing and hair styles. The dreams were horrific, and we concluded the event happened approximately fifteen years before we were born.
In 1990, several women in my office found out about a psychic fair and begged me to go with them. One of the attractions was a guided past life regression. There were approximately fifty people at the session we attended, we sat in an auditorium and a woman stood at the front, leading us through the process.
The first go, I couldn’t get into it, I was too anxious and trying too hard, so nothing happened. She asked if anyone wanted to share and several participants discussed their experiences for a bit, then she tried once again.
This time, I was able to get out of myself and actually listen to her and it worked. I found a photo album where she told me it would be, and when I opened it, I saw twin girls, approximately nine or ten years old, posed in front of a sailboat. The legend said, “Meersburg – 1939”.
The same girls from our dreams, only six or seven years younger.
When I saw it I gasped, my head rocked backward, and I was yanked back to the auditorium. I felt a crushing grief, like nothing I’d ever felt before and began to cry. I kept quiet, so I didn’t disturb anyone else before the exercise was finished, but I couldn’t stop crying.
When Cathy died in 2009, it all came rushing back, mixed completely with the events taking place, as though this past was an intrinsic part of the present.
So… yeah. I’m a believer.
